Legal
Privacy policy.
Effective October 31, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how appsbycb collects, uses, shares and protects information when you visit appsbycb.com (the "Site"), create an account, place an order, or use any app we publish (together, the "Services"). We built appsbycb to be ad-free and to collect as little information as possible.
1. Who we are
appsbycb is an independent software studio operated by Carlos Baez ("appsbycb", "we", "us", "our"). We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information: your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored only as a secure one-way hash — we can't see them.
- Order information: items you check out, billing name and email, country, postal code and, for physical goods, your shipping address.
- Security settings: if you turn on two-factor authentication, an encrypted secret and recovery codes.
- Messages: anything you send us when you contact us.
Information collected automatically
- Download records: the date, IP address and browser of each app download, kept to prevent abuse and support your account.
- Site statistics: pages viewed, referring website, device type (mobile, tablet or desktop), response time and cart activity. Visitors are represented by a one-way code that changes every day; we do not store your IP address for statistics. See Cookies & analytics.
- Server logs: standard technical logs (such as errors) kept briefly to keep the Site running and secure.
Payment information
Card payments are processed by our payment provider (such as Stripe). Your full card number is sent directly to them — we never see or store it. We receive only a payment confirmation and reference.
3. Our apps
Our apps are ad-free and do not include advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs. Unless an app's listing says otherwise:
- Data you create in an app (measurements, photos, settings) stays on your device and is not sent to us.
- Device permissions are used only for the app's feature. For example, Measure It uses your camera and Google Play Services for AR (ARCore) to measure; camera images are processed on your device and are not uploaded. Google's handling of ARCore data is described in Google's privacy policy.
- Optional in-app tips are processed by Google Play under Google's terms; we receive only confirmation of the purchase, not your payment details.
4. How we use information
- To create and secure your account, sign you in and keep your app library.
- To process orders, deliver downloads, ship physical items, issue refunds and send receipts.
- To send service emails such as password resets and order confirmations. We don't send marketing email unless you opt in.
- To understand which pages and apps are useful and to improve the Services, using aggregated statistics.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms of Service and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it to build advertising profiles.
5. How we share information
We share information only with service providers who help us run the Services, and only as needed:
- Hosting and network: our servers and Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the Site.
- Payments: our payment processor (such as Stripe) for paid orders.
- Email delivery: a provider that sends account and order emails.
- App stores: Google Play, if you get or tip an app through it.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or the public, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (in which case this policy will continue to apply).
6. Cookies & analytics
We use only essential cookies: one to keep you signed in and hold your cart, and one that protects forms from forgery. We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party analytics. Our own statistics are cookie-free and anonymized as described above. Because these cookies are strictly necessary, no consent banner is required; you can still block cookies in your browser, but sign-in and checkout won't work.
7. Data retention
- Account and library: kept while your account is open.
- Orders and receipts: kept for up to 7 years for tax and accounting purposes, even if you close your account.
- Download records: kept for up to 24 months.
- Site statistics: anonymized and kept for up to 24 months.
8. Security
We protect your information with encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, optional two-factor authentication, access controls and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and turn on two-factor authentication in your account settings.
9. Your rights & choices
You can view and update your name, email and password at any time in your account settings. Depending on where you live (for example, under the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU/UK GDPR), you may also have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and personal information (subject to records we must keep by law).
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To make a request, email us at [email protected] from the address on your account. We'll respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
11. International users
We are based in the United States, and information is stored and processed there. By using the Services from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Services change. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date and, for significant changes, notify account holders by email or on the Site.
